Best Green Smoothie Recipe: Blended Beauty Food - by Living Pretty Naturally

Many of us know that drinking green smoothies do great things for our skin, energy and everything else in between; however, not many people know that this is probably one of the best breakfasts for which your body can ask. Packed with nutrients and essential vitamins, it is no wonder you start the day feeling more energetic than you did the day before.
I’ve tried a multitude of Green Smoothie recipes, so here is an adaptation to one of my favourites:
2 handfuls of chopped organic spinach
1 stock of chopped organic kale (stems removed)
1/2 a cup of fresh pressed juice (blueberry, pomegranate, other high antioxidant juice – no sugary stuff) OR throw in a handful of organic berries
1/2 tsp of tumeric
1/4 tsp of cinnamon
1/2 inch piece of ginger (peeled & chopped)
Juice of 1/4 an organic lemon
1/2 a banana to sweeten
Add filtered water
Slam it all together in a blender (Vitamix is probably the best for making a batch, but in the mornings I use a Magic Bullet for it’s convenience – it’s small and I can take it on the go) and voila.
If you feel like you’re missing some protein, add in a scoop of plant based protein powder, such as Vega.
