In the onset of a lovely long weekend, and in my true travel bug fashion, I am jumping on an airplane. This weekend my travels take me to my favorite city in the whole wide world, Paris.
Having lived in Paris with one of my besties, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to scope out the best spots for natural beauty goods, fresh organic produce and raw food lunch stops. If you’re an all natural beauty junkie and heading to the City of Lights, you will have no problem finding organic goodness in between the macarons and pain au chocolats…the real problem is having the will power to save room in your belly…
Best Natural Shops in Paris
Without further adieu, here are the best places to shop au natural in Paris:
1. Best Raw Food Restaurant in Paris: Pousse-Pousse
I had the pleasure of trying out the raw food goodness of Pousse-Pousse (translated directly to english means “sprout-sprout”) the second time I was in Paris. Since that maiden voyage, it is now a bona fide routine stop for me. The creator is a brilliant raw foodist named Lawrence Aboucaya, who creates delicious plates of raw seed breads, raw soups, delicious vegan-friendly, gluten-free main courses (often including sprouts), slow pressed fresh juices (love my fennel juice) and to-die-for deserts. Not much is ever cooked over 40 degrees C, so you’re eating live foods complete with enzymes and potent beauty nutrients. Raw foods provide you with the best in terms of vitality and beauty benefits and Lawrence and her team do it deliciously. Find Pousse-Pousse on 7 Rue Notre-Dame de Lorette – in the 9th arrondissement. They’re open Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 noon until 2:45pm and on Saturdays from 12:00 – 6:00 PM (with lunch being served until 4:00 PM).
2. Best Shop Natural Beauty & Cosmetics in Paris: Mademoiselle Bio
Mademoiselle Bio is a one-stop-shop for all your natural beauty needs. Stocked full of natural cosmetics, body care, perfumes, hair products, essential oils and even products for that special guy in your life, it is certain to fill all your natural beauty needs. This is usually my first and last stop in Paris, and funnily enough, it is also where a large portion of my wallet’s contents disappear. There are a few locations spotted about the city, so click here to find the one closest to you.
3. Best Organic Groceries, Products, Teas and Fresh Breads in Paris: Naturalia
Need to stock up on natural products and the freshest produce that you can find (outside of the farmers market)? Look no further than Naturalia. They’re all over the city, but if you’re having trouble finding one, check the map here. If you’re in a rush and need a quick run-and-go snack on your way to Galeries Lafayette, there are great ready made snacks on the shelves that include vegan friendly foods, whole grain breads, and gluten-free snacks.
4. Best Organic Market in Paris: Rue Raspail Organic Market
Markets are my absolute FAVORITE Sunday morning summer activity...or any day activity for that matter. When it comes to markets, I feel like the smell and taste of summer has been wrapped up in a big beautiful bow. The Raspail Organic Market is on my list of top 3 favorite markets – it is the crème de la crème. Find the Raspail Organic Market in the 6th arrondissement on Blvd Raspail, from rue du Cherche-Midi to rue de Rennes (Metro: Rennes) every Sunday from 9 am – 2 pm.
5. Best Place to Enjoy an Organic Picnic in Paris: Pont des Arts
With countless parks and riverbanks to enjoy your 3 euro bottle of vin and freshly picked strawberries, Paris is a picnicker’s dream. My fave spot is the famous Pont des Arts, also known as “the Lock bridge”. The bridge is covered with padlocks placed there by lovers from around the world and is frequented by a great crowd after 7 PM on most summer evenings. Enjoy the sunset and a far off view of the Eiffel Tower while you eat and sip your way into a Parisian dream.
Well, my lovelies, I’m off to find new treasures to share with you, so until my return, bonsoir and goodnight!
Gros bisous X
K
